Jahlieh

Jahlieh is one of the stunning currently trending hiking locations, known for its lush vegetation and beautiful resting spots by the river. The local municipality did a commendable gesture by linking all of the beautiful trails, compounds, and resting spots by creating bridges and passageways.

It went along with this project and linked it to what is known as Darb El Heresh, a beautiful trail inside a prairie. You will see gorgeous landscapes by the waterside, as well as breathtaking waterfalls. You will also have the opportunity to meet the head of the Municipality of Jahlieh, who will give you an interesting brief about Jahlieh, its landscapes and beauty.

Furthermore, you will discover the Jahlieh prairie (Hersh El Jahlieh), and hopefully, we will organize several events in this incomparably beautiful region and visit surrounding villages.

In this event however, we will focus on discovering the Jahlieh village. We will walk on three trails: an EASY, a MODERATE, and a HARD level. We will begin our journey by meeting with the Head of Municipality, and from there, each group will start walking on the trail they chose.

The easy level will have some time to rest at a charming location, and then go back to the starting point. They will walk for almost 4.5 km.

The moderate level will take the trail within the prairie, then go back to the starting point, walking a total of 8 km. The hard level will walk for about 11 km, with uphill and downhill sections.

At the end of the hike, we will have the opportunity to eat local specialties from Chouf, prepared by local women.

We will all have lunch together before taking the bus and heading back to Beirut.

- Cancellation with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged half-price

- Reservations with less than 24 hours’ notice will be charged an extra 20’000 LBP

ESSENTIAL ECOTOURISTIC RULES & REGULATIONS

- Smoking is strictly prohibited during the event

- Always follow the guide on the designated trail

- Do not go off road without notifying the guide

- Do not get close to a cliff especially when the guide in charge tells you not to do so

- Although accidents are covered by the insurance but they remain under the responsibility of the member

- Sometimes, due to reasons beyond our control, slight modifications to the program may occur. Ecotourism rules must be followed, otherwise personal accidents will not be accounted for by the insurance.

Randonnée

Jahlieh est un des lieux les plus beaux actuellement très fréquentée par les randonneurs, connue pour sa végétation abondante et de jolis lieux de repos près du fleuve.

La municipalité locale à très bien fait de lier tous les sentiers et lieux de repos en créant des ponts et des passages.  En poursuivant ce projet, ils ont aussi lié le village à Darb El Heresh, un beau sentier dans une prairie.

Vous allez aussi voir de magnifiques vues près de l’eau, ainsi que de splendides cascades.  Vous allez avoir la chance de rencontrer le chef de la municipalité de Jahlieh, qui va vous raconter tout à propos de l’histoire, de la beauté et des paysages du village. 

En outre, vous allez découvrir la prairie de Jahlieh (Hersh El Jahlieh) et nous essayerons d’organiser plusieurs évènements dans cette région de beauté incomparable ainsi que dans ses villages environnants.

Nous aurons trois niveaux : FACILE, MOYEN et DIFFICILE.  Nous commencerons la randonnée en rencontrant le chef de la municipalité, et à partir de là, chaque groupe choisira le sentier qu’il préfère.

Le niveau ‘facile’ aura du temps pour se reposer dans un lieu très agréable, et ensuite retournera au point de départ.  Ils marcheront environ 4.5 km.  Le niveau ‘moyen’ prendra le sentier de la prairie, avant d’y retourner au point de départ, pour marcher 8 km. 

Le niveau ‘difficile’ marchera environ 11 km, avec des sections de montées et de descentes.

À la fin de la randonnée, nous aurons la chance de se régaler avec des spécialités locales du Chouf qui seront préparés par les femmes du village.

Nous allons tous déjeuner ensemble avant de prendre le bus et retourner vers Beyrouth.

- Ne pas emprunter un chemin sans en avertir le guide.

- Ne pas s’approcher d’une falaise, particulièrement quand le guide dit de ne pas le faire.

- Bien que les accidents soient couverts par l’assurance, la responsabilité du membre est toujours engagée.

- Parfois, pour des raisons indépendantes de notre volonté de légères modifications pourront être apportées à notre programme.

- Les règles d’Ecotourisme doivent toujours être respectées. Dans le cas contraire, en cas d’accident, l’assurance ne pourrait pas vous prendre en charge.
